This is The Next Big Rush, your daily drop of mining/energy investing news. Where we come together and draw lines on a chart for fun but make fun of people who believe in horoscopes.

🪙 1 Trillion Coin To Rule Them All
Because surely a magical coin can solve the US Budget problems! The Treasury Department says that they're bumping up against the current borrowing limit of $31.4 trillion, and if the debt ceiling isn't raised, they could run out of money by June…
Even Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen called it a gimmick and said the Federal Reserve is unlikely to agree to it. (I mean, who thought this was a good idea?)
And let's not forget, the coin doesn't even have to be made out of $1 trillion worth of platinum! The idea was floated around in early 2023 and it’s now back in vogue as we approach the actual debt ceiling. Again.
Lordy, Lord - what have we come to?
🇺🇸 US Senator Raises Flag On Nickel Processing Plant
Rubio thinks this could be a security risk for the U.S. and wants several government departments and the Securities and Exchange Commission to look into it.
He criticized China's Belt and Road Initiative, which Huayou mentioned as a part of the project, as a way for China to control critical infrastructure and resources around the world.
Ford is trying to reduce costs and compete with Tesla in the electric vehicle market by securing raw materials like nickel for EV batteries, naturally.
Rubio has previously introduced legislation targeting Ford's deal with a Chinese battery company and wants to block tax credits for Chinese-produced EV batteries.
The plant is set to start operating in 2026.
