⛏ Cameco Gets $300m

PLUS: Lower Grade Junior Finds High Grade Zone

Greetings Contrarian,

This is The Next Big Rush, your daily drop of mining/energy investing news. Where we come together and thank God it's Monday, 'cause let's face it, we're pretty addicted to this game of suffering.

Here are the highlights:

🤩 Cameco Gets $300m

🤩 F3's Scintilometer Goes Offscale Again

🤩 Meridian Finds High-Grade Zone

💴 Cameco Gets C$300m

Cameco (NYSE: CCJ) (TSX: CCO) is receiving a C$300m refund from the CRA due to court decisions in favour of the company for the 2003-2006 tax years regarding asset sales abroad. However, a further tax dispute with the CRA is still ongoing, and the agency is holding $480m of Cameco's funds. (Great.)

Cameco has filed appeals for the tax years 2007-2016 and is asking for the reversal of CRA's transfer pricing adjustments and a return of all cash and letters of credit held by the agency. The outcome of the dispute remains uncertain, but this is a win for Cameco so far (finally).

You can bet on the feds (of any country) to deliver a speedy result, even if almost 7 years later.

🎰 F3's Scintilometer Goes Off-Scale. Again.

Highlights:

Nine holes yielded five high-grade intercepts.

Best hole - PLN23-060 intersected radioactivity over 17.5m, including 3.82m of continuous off-scale radioactivity >65,535 cps between 244.0m and 247.82m.

PLN23-061 stepped out further and resulted in 14.0m of mineralization, including 2.81m of composite off-scale (>65,535 cps) radioactivity within 5.08m of composite radioactivity >10,000 cps.

A previous hole of off-scale readings at this project have assayed as high as 59.2% U308. This one may or may not be as juicy.

Assay results pending.

Sweet.
