🀯 Collective Mining Hits Jackpot

Collective Mining Ltd. (TSXV: CNL) (OTCQX: CNLMF) came out with a banger today.

Let’s break down this hole:

  • 384.7 metres @ 2.46 g/t gold equivalent (consisting of 1.17 g/t gold, 43 g/t silver and 0.37% copper) and including;

    • 320.80 metres @ 2.84 g/t gold equivalent from surface, which included,

    • 109.80 metres @ 4.14 g/t gold equivalent from surface, which included,

    • 42.35 metres @ 5.08 g/t gold equivalent from surface (in oxides)

And a hint of things to come:

So far this year, five new drill holes have been carried out from drill Pads 6 and 7. It seems that all five holes have encountered substantial mineral deposits starting at bedrock.

Specifically, the three holes from Pad 6 that have been completed have intersected over 350 meters of uninterrupted mineralization, while the two remaining holes from Pad 7 have intersected more than 100 and 170 meters of continuous mineralization, respectively.

The assay results for these holes are anticipated to be available soon.

The company has reserves of over 15 billion pounds of copper and nearly 600m oz of silver. The company attributes its reserve growth to its focus on extending mine life, developing districts, and discovering new opportunities in favourable mining jurisdictions.

The company's 2022 Reserves & Resources Highlights include robust gold reserves with over 90 percent of reserves in top-tier jurisdictions, 8.6 million ounces added in 2022, and a strong base of operating sites with a gold reserve life of 10 years or more.

Newmont also has significant exposure to other metals, including copper, silver, lead, zinc, and molybdenum.

In a significant move to bypass China in the supply chain of rare earth elements for electric vehicle production, US-based rare earths producer MP Materials (NYSE: MP) has struck a deal with Sumitomo Corp. to supply neodymium and praseodymium (try this without a spell check!) to the Japanese firm.

This marks a departure from previous supply arrangements, which saw output from MP Materials' Mountain Pass mine sent to China for processing before being purchased by Japanese companies.

The new deal will see MP Materials handling mining, smelting, and the separation of the rare earth elements. Refined materials will be shipped to Japanese magnet makers via companies in Vietnam and the Philippines.

The agreement, set to take effect in July, will provide 3,000 tonnes of neodymium and praseodymium annually, around 30% of Japanese magnet makers' consumption.
