Kazakhstan, responsible for nearly 40% of global uranium production, has expressed frustration over its exclusion from the 35-member board of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The Central Asian nation called this exclusion a breach of "the fundamental principle of equality."
Despite hosting an IAEA nuclear fuel bank and contributing millions in membership dues, Kazakhstan is among 17 countries not represented on the board. Kazakhstan plans to address its exclusion at the IAEA's general conference in September and is rallying support for a resolution to rectify this.
Notably, both Iran and the US, typically at odds, support a rule change in favor of Kazakhstan.

India's Vedanta Ltd is considering separate listings for its diverse businesses, including metals, mining, oil & gas, and potential chipmaking, according to billionaire Anil Agarwal.
This move would allow shareholders of Vedanta Ltd to own shares in various companies, providing investment opportunities in specific areas. Agarwal aims to get feedback from shareholders, suggesting that the reorganization might offer enhanced returns and dividends.
This decision contrasts with Agarwal's failed attempt to delist Vedanta Ltd in 2020. Vedanta Resources, Vedantaβs parent company, has faced financial challenges, notably a significant debt, and has made efforts to raise funds and restructure its assets to address its debt issues.
