IAMGOLD Corporation (NYSE:IAG) (TSX:IMG) has signed an agreement to acquire Vanstar Mining Resources Inc. (TSXV: VSR) (OTCQX: VMNGF) (FSE: 1V8), focusing on Vanstar's valuable assets. Vanstar, a gold exploration company, holds a 25% interest in the Nelligan Joint Venture Project in Northern Quebec.

This project, co-managed with IAMGOLD (75% interest), shows significant potential for resource expansion. The deal values Vanstar at approximately $31.1 million, with shareholders receiving 0.2008 IAMGOLD shares for each Vanstar share.

The transaction highlights the strategic importance of the Nelligan deposit in IAMGOLD's portfolio, enhancing their exploration footprint in Northern Quebec. Nelligan's latest mineral resource estimate reports 72.2 million tonnes of indicated resources and 114.1 million tonnes of inferred resources, totaling over 5 million ounces of gold.

Vanstar’s price surged 39.6% on the news.

Brunswick Exploration Inc. (TSX-V: BRW) (OTCQB: BRWXF) has just announced inaugural drilling results from the Mirage Lithium Project, located in the Eeyou Istchee-James Bay region of Quebec.

Highlights:

• 25.8 m of 2.57% Li2O

• 50.6 m of 1.06% Li2O

• 16.2 m of 2.75%

Four major spodumene-bearing pegmatite dykes where significant intervals of continuous lithium mineralization were drilled. The stock is down over 6% as we type. Go figure.
