😎 Critical Minerals Push

President Donald Trump has signed an executive order invoking the Defence Production Act to expand domestic critical mineral production, aiming to reduce reliance on foreign imports, particularly from China.

The order provides financing and investment support for processing critical minerals and rare earth elements, accelerates permitting, and prioritises mineral production on federal land. With China tightening export controls on key minerals, the administration seeks to secure domestic supply chains for uranium, copper, potash, gold, and potentially coal.

This move builds on past efforts to strengthen US resource independence and safeguard national security. Nothing says ‘wartime emergency’ like a good old-fashioned mining boom!

😉 Gold Slips But Gains

Gold prices dipped today as a stronger US dollar prompted profit-taking after the metal hit a record high of $3,057.21 per ounce on Thursday.

Despite the pullback, gold remains on track for a third consecutive weekly gain, up 1.6% so far. Investor interest has been driven by safe-haven demand amid trade war concerns and expectations of a Federal Reserve rate cut later this year.

Meanwhile, silver, platinum, and palladium are set for weekly declines.

Analysts suggest that demand from exchange-traded products (ETPs) could continue to support gold prices.
