😨 Panic in Niger
Things look messy in Niger. An “attempted coup d'état” in Niger has investors hitting the sell button, with members of the presidential guard reportedly detaining President Mohamed Bazoum. EU, UN, and US authorities have expressed concern and urged stability. Bazoum's government confirmed his safety and noted a lack of wider military support for the coup attempt.
Bazoum's democratic election in 2021 was a significant step for Niger. A potential military takeover could affect Western efforts in fighting regional jihadist insurgency and irregular migration.
Amid these developments, Global Atomic Corporation and Goviex Uranium confirmed their projects in Niger continue to advance despite minor interruptions.
There are no great jurisdictions, only risk versus reward.
