Mining tech that works these days is almost as rare as good news that gets a bid.

🤓 Ontario Goes Nuclear

The Ontario government is initiating pre-development work for the first large-scale nuclear power project in over three decades to meet rising electricity demand.

Bruce Power will begin community consultations and conduct an environmental assessment to evaluate the possibility of establishing up to 4,800 megawatts of new nuclear generation at its current site.

The decision follows recommendations from Ontario’s Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) to plan for increased electricity demand beyond the 2020s.

This new nuclear generation will help power the province's economy, support thousands of jobs, and contribute to reducing emissions.

The plan also includes consultations with Indigenous communities and extensive public input.

Nuclear is cool again.
