🇵🇪 Peru Mining On Full Speed

The Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) in Peru has announced that a total of 74 mining projects, with a combined investment of $596 million, are expected to commence operations across 17 departments in 2023. 

According to a media statement released by the ministry, exploration is critical for the development of the mining industry, allowing the discovery of new deposits and the extension of the lifespan of operating mines, thus generating resources for the country's benefit. 

Of the 74 projects, 30 have already received all necessary permits and are either operational or nearing completion.

17 projects are in the evaluation stage for exploration authorization, and the remaining 27 projects) are undergoing environmental impact assessments. 

Copper mining dominates the list with 39 projects, followed by gold with 18 projects. 

Zinc comes in third place with nine projects, while eight joint projects are focused on silver and lithium.

Does this signal a turnaround for sentiment regarding Peru as a jurisdiction? An unnamed CEO working in the country once told us “Peru has always been a basket case - people are just aware of this now. Things are still getting done, and the issues are not top-down.”

Panoro Minerals (TSXV: PML) (Lima: PML) (Frankfurt: PZM) (OTCQB: POROF) announced results of seven additional drill holes from its infill and step-out drill program at the Company's Cotabambas Cu/Au/Ag Project in southern Peru.

(We swear this is a coincidence to the piece above).Highlight:

 CB-214 intersected 408.7m of primary copper sulfide averaging 0.74% Cueq, including an interval of 117.7 m grading 1.21% Cu, 0.82 g/t Au, 11.36 g/t Ag (1.98% Cueq), located to the southern part of the North Pit.

Mineralization has been expanded on both North and South zones.
