Why? Well, they're warding off Glencore's relentless charm offensive while nursing a recent heartbreak - their failed attempt to split into two.

CEO Jonathan Price reckons this is the best way to make shareholders' hearts flutter. And let's just say, the suitors are lining up, from mining bigwig Pierre Lassonde to Japan's Nippon Steel Corporation.

It's a regular romcom, and everyone's waiting to see who'll win Teck's heart.

Magna Mining Inc. (TSXV: NICU) (FSE: 8YD), an exploration and development company focused on nickel, copper and PGM projects in the Sudbury Region of Ontario, Canada released initial assays from a series of short, near surface drillholes immediately beneath the surface exposure of the 109 Footwall Zone.

Highlights:

31.0 metres of 0.7% Ni, 0.6 % Cu, 8.7 g/t Pt + Pd + Au

21.0 metres of 0.3% Ni, 0.8 % Cu, 9.0 g/t Pt + Pd + Au

13.0 metres 0.4% Ni, 0.6 % Cu, 18.9 g/t Pt + Pd + Au

That’s some rich rock when you add it all up.

😭 China Copper Imports Down

Copper imports to China, the world's leading metal consumer, fell by 4.6% in May from the previous year, due to a tepid demand amid a shaky economic recovery and high domestic production. 

Despite the decline, May imports increased by 9% from April, due to arbitrage opportunities amid falling domestic stocks.

Copper stocks in Shanghai Futures Exchange warehouses dropped 66% since late February.

While imports are down, China's copper ore and concentrate imports hit a record 2.56 million tonnes in May, up 16.9% from last year.
