😲 Teck vs Glencore: Round III

The plot thickens as China Investment Corp (CIC), which holds slightly over 10% of Teck Resources' Class B shares, has said it will support Glencore's proposed takeover of the Canadian mining firm.

According to Bloomberg, CIC favours the deal because it offers a cleaner exit for investors.

Teck has a dual-class structure, with the Keevil family owning the majority of class A supervoting shares.

The company has repeatedly rejected Glencore's proposal to merge and spin off their combined thermal and steelmaking coal businesses.

Teck's shareholders are divided over the issue, with the investor vote due to take place on April 26.

😭 Mexico's $9b Mining Law Overhaul

Proposed changes to Mexico's mining laws could cost the country up to $9 billion in lost investment and up to 420,000 direct jobs in the coming years, according to Jaime Gutierrez, the president of the Camimex mining association. 

The overhaul, proposed by the government last month, would include shortening concessions to 15 years from 50, tightening water permit rules, requiring miners to give back at least 10% of profits to communities, and disclosing mining impacts.

Gutierrez warned that certain proposals were "completely unviable," including the state taking over all exploration operations and granting concessions to mine only one substance.

Our mantra remains: all jurisdiction are risky.

Filo Mining Corp. (TSX: FIL) (Nasdaq First North Growth Market: FIL) (OTCQX: FLMMF), the company that should just start reporting in kilometers instead of meters, has reported - you guessed it - stellar results once again from hole FSDH073 at the Filo del Sol Project in San Juan, Argentina.

Highlights

Drillhole FSDH073 intersected 983.9m at 0.89% CuEq from a depth of 404.5m, including;

• 614.0m at 1.06% CuEq from 600.0m

• 272.0m at 1.33% CuEq from 756.0m

Maybe they put this out on a Friday because compared to the other holes, this one is just "OK" (I know, we're jealous too).

The other companies in your portfolio are probably facepalming right now. We know ours are.
